StudioBinder runs the office. PropsHub runs the props list.
StudioBinder is a full production-management suite — scheduling, call sheets, storyboards, shot lists, script breakdown, budgeting — used by productions of every size. Its script breakdown lets you highlight a line and tag it Props, the same way it tags Wardrobe or Set Dressing. PropsHub does one job: the prop list that comes out the other end, with a quantity that's recalculated from the scenes rather than typed once and left to go stale.
If you need to schedule a shoot, build call sheets and manage a production end to end, StudioBinder does that and PropsHub doesn't. If you need to know your prop counts are still correct three weeks into prep, that's the part StudioBinder's tag was never built to do.
A script-breakdown tag, not a props database.
As published on studiobinder.com and its own support documentation (accessed August 2026), StudioBinder's script breakdown works by highlighting text in an uploaded script and tagging it into one of a fixed set of color-coded categories — Props, Wardrobe, Set Dressing, and the rest of the standard AD breakdown categories. The result is a filterable "Scene Elements" list.
We looked for a quantity field, a status field, a source/rental field, and a photo field on a tagged prop element. We didn't find one. StudioBinder's breakdown tells you a prop is in a scene; it doesn't carry how many, where it came from, or whether it's been sourced yet — and nothing recalculates a running count as scenes change.
A tag says the prop is in the scene. It doesn't say how many.

A script-breakdown tag would show "Props: pocket watch" on all three scenes. It wouldn't tell you the count is 4 — or catch it becoming 3 the moment scene 61 is cut.

StudioBinder facts as published on studiobinder.com, app.studiobinder.com/pricing and StudioBinder's own support articles on script breakdown (accessed August 2026). "Not found" means we looked and could not locate the feature in StudioBinder's own documentation — not that it definitely doesn't exist anywhere in the product.
If you need to run the whole production, use StudioBinder.
This isn't close, and we're not going to pretend otherwise: StudioBinder schedules shoots, builds call sheets, manages storyboards and shot lists, and reads a script to break it down across every department at once — cast, locations, wardrobe, props, and more. It has a genuine free tier and you can be using it in five minutes with no one on the other end to talk to first. PropsHub has none of that; it's the props binder, not the production office.
What PropsHub adds is depth in the one place StudioBinder's breakdown treats as a single tag among many: a prop count that's recalculated from your scene breakdown itself, per-scene task checklists, source and status tracking per prop, and a printable scene card built around that count — plus a trilingual UI, which we could not find any evidence of on StudioBinder's product.
